IAESTE > THE ORGANIZATION > Presence in the world PRESENCE IN THE WORLDList of countries (pdf) IAESTE has carried out more than 300,000 exchanges since its foundation, and it is the senior association in terms of international mobility for undergraduates. Currently more than 80 countries belong to the association. This is only paralleled by organizations such as the United Nations or the Red Cross. On the other hand, IAESTE has played a major role in the foreign relations of many countries, especially those in the Soviet Orbit. The programme has been introduced in more than 1,000 universities and institutions, and more than 3,000 companies are also taking part in the project. More than 6,000 exchanges are being done every year all over the world, the most active countries being those in the European Union, with 2,500 internships, followed by the rest of the European countries with 700, Asia and Australia with 800 and America with 600. Spain occupies the third position in terms of offers (350), behind Germany (900) and Brazil (370). IAESTE maintains that all Committees must establish relations with as many participants as possible, which makes the entity an international example and a real network of global cooperation. |
