BASIC CONCEPTS

STUDENT NOMINATED (.doc-.pdf) AND CANDIDATE APPLICATION:
It’s the basic form all students need in order to apply to an internship offer. They must also hand in the application form, bank receipt for the internship fee (three copies), Student Nominated, cover letter for the company, résumé, university registration sheet, list of courses taken and anything else the student considers necessary.

RESTRICTED COMPANIES:
Those companies which have offered internships through any of the Centres on a previous campaign. Only the centre through which the offer was placed can deal with the company; all the other members cannot participate in any exchange with it. IAESTE España will give a list of Centres to the companies at the beginning of the campaign.

LIMITS OF THE ”D” FIGURE:
The “d” figure (number of refusals of students of a Centre by foreign companies) must be modified when the number of offers obtained in the International Exchange is not enough to cover all the Centres. This will be done whenever the number of bonuses (positive points) exceeds the number of penalizations (negative points). The limits of the “d” figure will be changed to a maximum which allows the number of offers received to be equal to or higher than the number of offers needed for all the centres.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE POINTS:
Those Centres which have applied to less offers than they have a right to (that is, they have more bonuses than penalizations) will be given fake offers, which will be added to the number of real offers reached by the Centre in the same specialty.
Those Centres which have applied to more offers than they have a right to (that is, they have more penalizations than bonuses) will lose the number of offers necessary to balance both quantities. The offers eliminated will be those with a punctuation closer to the general punctuation of the centre in that specialty. In the case of an even result, the offers with lower punctuation will be removed.

SECOND TERM OFFERS:
Those offers which have not been given to any student after the first selection. Any student can apply for those offers, as long as he or she meets the requirements. These offers are granted by the Permanent Commission, under the following criteria: candidates of centres who have not had an option in the Auction or whose students have always been cancelled are given precedence; offers are equitably distributed among the student candidates and the Centres they belong to. Please bear in mind that it is A MUST that candidates meet the requirements established in the offer.

OFFER REFUSAL:
Spanish students refuse to an offer when they communicate to the General Secretary their intention not to do the internship they had applied to. In this case, the student will receive a refund of 50% of the student fee if the refusal is communicated 45 days or more before the beginning of the internship, as established by the student in Form “O” (Student Nominated). If IAESTE is informed of the refusal later than that, the student will not receive a refund.
Centres will be penalized with a negative point for the subsequent campaign with each refusal.
